Intro to 2D Game Development with Godot

Students learn how video games are built by creating their own from scratch using a real game engine. This hands-on course introduces programming in a fun, structured, and supportive environment - no prior experience required.

Course Description

This hands-on course introduces students to the fundamentals of game development using the Godot game engine. Students will learn programming concepts, problem-solving skills, and creative design by building their own playable 2D game.

The course emphasizes logical thinking, creativity, and technical skill development in a structured and engaging environment.

Target Age Group

  • Ages 7–17 (grouped by skill level if necessary)
  • No prior coding experience required.

Learning Ojectives

By the end of the course, students will:

  • Understand basic programming concepts (variables, functions, loops, conditionals)
  • Learn core game development principles (scenes, sprites, collision, input)
  • Implement player movement and interaction systems
  • Design simple game mechanics
  • Debug and improve their code
  • Complete a small playable game project
