Intro to 2D Game Development with Godot

Course Description
This hands-on course introduces students to the fundamentals of game development using the Godot game engine. Students will learn programming concepts, problem-solving skills, and creative design by building their own playable 2D game.
The course emphasizes logical thinking, creativity, and technical skill development in a structured and engaging environment.
- Ages 7–17 (grouped by skill level if necessary)
- No prior coding experience required.
By the end of the course, students will:
- Understand basic programming concepts (variables, functions, loops, conditionals)
- Learn core game development principles (scenes, sprites, collision, input)
- Implement player movement and interaction systems
- Design simple game mechanics
- Debug and improve their code
- Complete a small playable game project
- Computational thinking

- Laptop that they can bring to class (Windows, Mac, or Linux)
